Everyone does florals. Not everyone does them like they found the original painting in an attic.

This print did not come from a trend report. It came from somewhere older - the kind of floral that belongs on the walls of a French country house, or pressed between the pages of a book nobody has opened in forty years. Roses, peonies, morning glories, foliage rendered in a faded, layered way that suggests they were painted first, printed second. The colours are dusty pink, deep red, sage green, muted blue. Nothing is sharp or synthetic.

On the Nora top, red checkered buttons at the back give it the twist your wardrobe needed.

On the Alkesey dress with the gathered waist, the print becomes almost impressionist toward the hem - lighter, more diffuse, like the flowers are dissolving into air.

On the other two silhouettes the print clusters, dense and painterly, like a bouquet someone arranged with real intention.

Florals for spring may draw sarcasm. But these aren’t for spring - they’re for whenever you want to look like you own a chateau and have opinions about roses. Which, frankly, should be any day.
