Because someone had to say what corduroy could actually be.
Corduroy has an image problem. It’s been coasting on nostalgia for decades — campus libraries, autumn afternoons, your father’s jacket. Comfortable. But not fancy.
We need to talk about the wales. It is where the fabric intelligence lives.
Ordinary corduroy runs fourteen, perhaps eighteen wales per inch. Wide ribs. Obvious texture. We work in twenty one. At that density, what remains is texture without volume. The suggestion of velvet. The honesty of cotton. The weight of either.
As a result, it drapes instead of sitting rigidly the way regular corduroy does. Available in colours that range from quietly moody to frankly joyful. Dresses, skirts and pants. For anyone who thought they knew what corduroy was, we’d love to surprise you.
