By hand. In a dusty village in Kutch. By artisans who have been creating textures and prints on textile for seven generations.

It is sheer, and it means to be. We recommend wearing it over a fine camisole or slip - cream, ivory, or a nude that matches your skin tone.
The shoulder is dropped and the body cut square without being boxy. Versatile enough to pair with any shape of skirt or trouser.

Is this top see-through?
Yes. The silk is sheer by design. Most people wear it over a camisole, a slip or a fine bralette; a nude that matches your skin tone sits well under the brown, as does a deeper brown if you want the layering to be visible.
How do I care for hand batik silk?
Dry clean. Batik colour is built in a dye pot rather than fixed to a formula, so keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun, and use a cool iron from the reverse.
Will my piece look exactly like the photographs?
Close, but not identical. The crackle veining that gives batik its character forms as the waxed cloth is handled, and it forms differently every time.
